Derek is an integrative psychotherapist with additional training in compulsive behaviour, including sex and pornography addiction. He also works with alcohol and substance misuse. Derek works with clients to help them understand patterns of behaviour that have become difficult to stop or change, or that are affecting their lives and relationships.
His approach is collaborative and curious. He takes time to understand each client as an individual and does not assume that everyone has the same reasons for their behaviour or wants the same outcome from therapy. He believes that understanding what a behaviour has been doing for someone can provide a useful starting point for making changes.
Derek helps clients explore what is happening, consider what matters to them and find ways forward that fit how they want to live.
