What are the fees for Laurel Centre services?
The Laurel Centre offers a flexible fee structure for therapy with individual counselling sessions starting from £90.
A bursary fund, supported by 10% of annual profits and client donations, helps subsidise recovery courses for those unable to afford therapy. All our workshops and recovery courses have options to pay in affordable instalments.
Initial consultations help clients discuss affordability and payment options, with low-cost therapy available in some cases.

Does treatment work?
Yes, treatment for compulsive sexual behaviour can be highly effective, although no reputable therapy service can guarantee individual outcomes. Motivation and willingness to engage with the process are important factors in successful change.
We believe clients have every right to ask about effectiveness. Our published research found significant improvements following our group programmes, and we continue to evaluate our work as part of our commitment to measuring and sharing outcomes.
You can read our published research, learn more about what we mean by evidence-based practice, and read testimonials from previous clients.
Do you take insurance?
Regrettably our services are not ordinarily covered by health insurance. However, we are very happy to provide you with a receipt for reimbursement from your insurer if they agree to cover your costs.
Are you a religious/faith-based organisation?
The Laurel Centre is not affiliated to any particular cultural, religious or faith tradition. However, if you would prefer to work with a therapist from a particular religious or cultural background, please do let us know.
Are you 12-step?
From our experience we know that the support of peer groups such as the 12-step fellowships can be hugely beneficial to some, but for others they can be a negative experience. We will be very happy to work with you to find additional external support that will best fit your needs.
Do you work with young people?
Regrettably our service is only available for people aged 18 and over.
Do you offer in-person appointments?
We have a few in-person appointments in some areas of the country but most of our service is now delivered via Zoom. If you have a particular preference for in-person, please do let us know and we will try to accommodate your wishes if we can.
Can I choose my therapist?
Associates are allocated to clients based on availability and hence, your enquiry will be passed to someone on the team who is able to see you at the day/time most convenient to you. However, if you have a particular preference for an associate of a specific gender, sexual orientation or religious experience, please do let us know.
Is there a waiting list?
Our capacity for new clients varies and we do our utmost to ensure nobody has to wait longer than 2 weeks for a first appointment. However, waiting times are long for clients seeking evening or weekend appointments.
