David is an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist trained to Master’s level and who places great importance on the therapeutic relationship. He holds a compassionate stance in his work that supports clients in developing a deeper understanding of themselves and, importantly, their own sense of self-compassion – often a key part of letting go of old patterns and moving forward.
After several years working with a wide range of presenting issues in community clinical settings, David undertook specialist training in porn and sex addiction which now forms the primary focus of his practice. He is sex-positive, works in a trauma-informed way, and is also a speaker and educator in this area.
Prior to training as a therapist, David spent nearly 20 years in the financial services sector leading teams in delivering organisational change. This background continues to inform his therapeutic style – particularly his ability to work collaboratively, deconstruct complexity, and communicate clearly. He is passionate about transformation and finds great fulfilment in supporting clients as they begin to live more authentic, connected, and fulfilling lives.
David’s personal interests include travel, faith, family, and beekeeping, though not necessarily in that order.
