Working with Problematic Porn Use – for Student Counselling Services

An increasing number of young people are struggling with addictive or compulsive pornography use and seek help from student counselling services. A few share their problem with porn in the first session, while many others initially present with low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, or relationship problems.

This CPD day, specifically designed for counsellors working with student populations, will provide an overview of the latest research and understanding of problematic porn use including assessment and treatment options. Delegates will be introduced to a new online low-cost resource, Pivotal Recovery, which can be utilised alongside traditional therapy. Outcomes will be shared from the pilot study as well as user testimonials.
