The 8 Week Porn Addiction recovery course has been developed specifically to help people with compulsive pornography use who want practical strategies to stop and do not feel they have significant underlying issues. The course has been increasing in popularity since it was launched in 2016.

The course is an Online Virtual Recovery Group delivered via a Zoom video conferencing environment. It provides practical skills for recovery, as well as insights into other emotional and personal needs.  It establishes a safe, shared group environment that overcomes the shame, guilt, isolation and secrecy that often maintains addiction and a supportive network to share and learn accountability.

By the end of the course, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the Biological and Psychological causes of their addiction
  • Recognise and manage their Triggers
  • Establish Relapse Prevention strategies to secure and maintain Recovery
  • Identify and overcome potential future Blocks to Recovery
  • Develop long term strategies for re-establishing a Positive Sexual Lifestyle

The course consists of 8 x 1.5 hour online group sessions, one evening a week with in-between session preparatory work.  Attendance at each session is required and the course is strictly limited to a maximum of 6 men.  All attendees are required to undertake an initial assessment to confirm the programme is appropriate for their individual needs and circumstances and sign a confidentiality statement to ensure the group is a safe space for all. The course facilitator is an experienced therapist who specialises in pornography addiction.

“A really good course that has enabled me to really look at myself, not only from a sexual addiction point of view but it has also given me the impetus to look at other aspects of my life and I know changes need to be made there too. The facilitator and the atmosphere on the course was great!”
